Motorola doesn’t just do two way radios and cell phones, they are also involved in other aspects of the telecommunications business. Recently, they’ve introduced a couple of digital cordless phones in the form of the D10 and D11 (sounds like some sort of Nikon camera range, eh?). Both models have been tastefully designed to fit the conscious home owner without looking out of place. Both models boast an intuitive design in a sleek sculptural form, and are easy and comfortable to use in the palm of your hand.
The D10 and D11 range of phones are designed to be the perfect fit for the sophisticated and environmentally conscious home owner.
The D10 and D11 handsets were specially developed with the environment in mind, as they are able to adjust automatically to optimize output depending on how far they are from the base unit. Users who want to save on battery power are able to activate the intelligent ‘eco mode’, resulting in a longer talk time without sacrificing on voice quality. The phones themselves are made from at least 20% recycled material, which will help reduce the carbon footprint in your home (make sure you get rid of that gas guzzling SUV in the garage first if you’re really serious about keeping the earth green).
The D10 and D11 are extremely pleasing to the eye, boasting a subtle contrast of textures and materials that create a visually integrated look which is an ideal fit in any contemporary home. These super slim handsets feature large ‘easy-to-read’ backlit displays, allowing even grandparents to use it without running into eyesight problems. Other specifications include polyphonic ringtones, handsfree speakerphone and 100-entry phonebooks. As for the D11, users will be able to benefit from SMS messaging, 3-way conference calling and a subtle laser-etched backlit keypad, items which the D10 lacks. You can also benefit from the digital answering machine that features both visual and audible message alerts in addition to remote access to messages.

Phones in both series are available as standard or TAM (telephone answering machine) versions. The standard phones provide the core telephone features that discerning consumers will require and some additional new features that users will really appreciate, such as a room monitor which can be used to listen in on a baby, small child or a person in care. The TAM phones offer all these features plus advanced answer phone functionality, including pre-recorded announcements, remote access to messages and the ability to screen calls before choosing to answer.
The new D10 and D11 range of phones are available from November 2008 and will be sold through high street retailers, catalogues and also via Motorola dealers.
